The 8860 gas chromatography (GC) system provided by Agilent is reliable and stable, which establishes a standard for routine gas chromatography analysis. The 8860 can be configured with up to two injection ports, three valves and three detectors (including a single quadrupole mass spectrometer) to meet the needs of various conventional gas chromatography applications. The built-in intelligent functions, intuitive touch screen interface and cost-effective options (such as DA Express and Electronic Gas Path Regulation (EPR)) make the 8860 an ideal choice, and improve the analytical performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness of conventional gas chromatography to the level of.

Characteristics:

■ Advanced instrument intelligence functions for diagnosis and maintenance can help laboratory managers better avoid accidental downtime and reduce misoperation.

■ The color touchscreen display provides access to gas chromatography settings, status information, configuration, and signal maps to confirm that the analysis is operating as expected.

■ The browser user interface provides easy access to large amounts of GC information from a PC or tablet. Edit methods and sequences, and access advanced intelligence features. Check the status of the instrument and run diagnostics from anywhere (even at home) within the reach of the laboratory network.

■ The blank operation evaluation can identify and notify the user of baseline offset, unexpected peak and baseline elevation problems. The detector evaluation can automatically evaluate the detector calibration sample, and provide a summary report in the diagnosis section.

■ Compared with the previous Agilent gas chromatography design and the design of other brands of gas chromatography, the unique 6th generation micro flow path EPC architecture has significant improvements in reliability and service life, and can resist gas pollutants, such as particles, water vapor and oil.

■ 8860 uses full electronic gas path control (EPC) on all injection ports and detectors to ensure better repeatability of retention time and peak area, obtain more consistent analysis results and reduce repetitive work.

■ The EPR option enables simple manual operation through high-precision digital display of pressure/flow. The Agilent OpenLab CDS software can be used to record actual pressure and flow data. Compared with manual pneumatic system, EPR has significant advantages.

■ 8860 EPC and EPR have ambient temperature and pressure compensation to obtain more stable retention time and detector baseline.

■ The use of advanced economical electronic gas path control, such as helium saving module and hydrogen sensor, can reduce the use of helium and improve the flexibility and safety of laboratory analysis.

■ The retention time locking (RTL) function provided by most Agilent OpenLab CDS software can match the retention time of any Agilent gas chromatography system using the same method and column.

■ The optional DA Express data analysis of the 8860 gas chromatography is especially suitable for users who do not need a lot of data processing or compliance software functions. This software simplifies data analysis and enables easy integration, reporting and calibration.

■ The FID, which can automatically adjust the detection range, has a wide dynamic response range, improving the quantitative accuracy, and reducing the pretreatment requirements for samples with very high or low concentrations of compounds.

■ The monofilament TCD does not require a separate reference gas or manual adjustment of the potentiometer, and can provide a stable baseline without drift.
